Unfortunately Mozilla decided to not support these kind of add-ons anymore, so there won't be a WebExtension or a Firefox 57+ version of this add-on. Read here about it: https://github.com/Aris-t2/ClassicThemeRestorer/issues/299
Contact Mozilla and tell them what you think about their move to drop support of the superior add-on system they had: https://support.mozilla.org/
Use custom CSS code for Firefox 57+ ( https://github.com/Aris-t2/CustomCSSforFx/issues/2 ) to keep classic ui features or switch to Waterfox browser ( https://www.waterfoxproject.org/ - a Firefox fork with support for legacy add-ons) to keep classic add-ons.
I downgrade back to FF 56 so that I can continue to use Noia buttons and other legacy add-on's. These Mozilla people just don't get it >_<
Thanks for your suggestions. But the ported solution is far beyond my capabilities to implement as I have no idea what to do. You need to create a guide for the dummies (probably with screenshots) to lead us thru....
You are the first who reported something like this.
Steps to reproduce? When icons "disappear" do the previous default ones appear? Which OS are you using? What other add-ons are installed? Does this happen on a clean profile without anything else installed too?
I wanted to keep my own background but wanted the buttons of the Noia personas, so this worked out great for me. I love all those cartoon looking buttons. Keep up with the great ideas and the great looking add-ons. Thanks for all the hard work you put into it.
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (184.108.40.206-signed).
Aris, I tried and tried to use the Blue Abstract persona and with the Noia theme (which is great BTW), but every time I would have to restart to load the persona, the buttons would go back to default. So I would reload the buttons and the Noia would theme would go away on restart...and I would go back and forth and back and forth. Until I finally found the restore navigation bars and that would put them back in with the abstract blue persona. So I'm glad to see that Noiabuttons has been added. You would think that the Add-on manager would allow you to set up the persona (or at least that one, I haven't tried any of the other ones) without a restart. Hope I'm not too far out in left field with this; just started working with builds and Firefox in general, so pardon me if I overlooked something I was supposed to do in the Add-on Manager and I hope this was helpful. Kudos though on the theme....my favorite so far.
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (220.127.116.11-signed).
I'm not sure, if you used the Persona feature inside Noia4 settings correctly. Mozilla doesn't provide an easier way than this: - install a Persona - restart (now Noia4 is disabled and the Persona is enabled) - enable Noia 4 theme - restart (now the Persona is disabled and Noia4 is enabled) - go to addons manager -> Noia4 manager -> Personas tab and select a setting there - restart (now Persona and Noia 4 should be both visible) - repeat steps for a different Persona
The NoiaButtons ext. can be easier combined with a Persona, I know. If someone only wants the main toolbarbutton icons, this way is the better one.
